Experience Umbria: language and culture Learn Italian culture key words and experience Umbria by discovering its villages, traditions and food in 8 awesome days.

Day 1 - Saturday

Upon arrival in Rome you'll be met by Daniela or Gianluca from Tasting Travel who will assist you with transfer to Spoleto. Time to settle in, and in the evening enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Spoleto's best restaurants. Elisa and Filippo from Carpe Diem Language school will introduce to you the course programme.

Day 2 - Sunday

Discovering Spoleto through a guided tour in the morning. An urban mini-trekking among monuments of our ancient city. The Roman theater, the Bridge of the Towers, the Duomo and pittoresque secret corners...you will take a step back into a past era.

Day 3 - Monday

Class starting! Your teachers will explain you why Umbria is considered "the green heart of Italy" and the importance of nature here. Through the first key words of Italian you'll learn what "tartufo" or "ulivo" mean...

In the afternoon tome to practice: a truffle hunt in Monteluco, wandering with a local truffle hunter and his dogs in the "holy wood" where S. Francis had his spiritual retreat.

Day 4 - Tuesday

A very tasty day! In the morning class will be about our main rural resources: wine and olive oil cultivation. We will then visit a local winery for a wine tasting in Bevagna and on our way back, we will stop in Montefalco following the path of wonderful local wine (Sagrantino di Montefalco and Rosso di Montefalco).

Day 5 - Wednesday

Third day of class. Main topic will be Umbrian art and architecture : portraits of many painters like Il Perugino and Il Pinturicchio. We will introduce to you what we'll see on the following day guided visit. Free time in the afternoon.

Day 6 - Thursday

Class in the morning will approach spirit and religion in Umbria, preparing us for a wonderful day trip to Assisi in the afternoon. This famous city is considered one of the greatest centers of Christianity and the world's city of peace. We will see the church of St. Clare and the famous Basilica of St. Francis.

Day 7 - Friday

Last day of lesson: let's have a look to what's in Umbria nowadays. A closer look to Italian actual daily life, how things have changed and waht the future is promising, old stereotypes and the challenge of European Community. Free time to pack in the afternoon. Pizza togethere to say "arrivederci" Umbria!

Day 8 - Saturday

Transfer to Rome airport....BUON VIAGGIO!
